It was my first visit to KL, and in my opinion KL is a nice city that I wanna go back to stay longer someday. Beside Vincci shoes that made me buy new luggage to carry all those cute and affordable shoes, KL is clean and nice to stay.
I arrived at KLIA 21.30 local time, and been amazed of the modernity of the airport that claim as the biggest and the greatest airport in the world, with aerotrain inside to connect each section, suddenly made me think CGK is very out of date airport .. And I wonder when CGK will be like KLIA. Hmm
Stay in Marriot Hotel Bukit Bintang on my first night, then moved to Dorsett Hotel ( stil in the same area ) the next day til I leave KL on the 6th day since I arrived. Bukit Bintang is nice neighbourhood to stay. In heart of KL. It’s easy for me to go around, even walking by myself. Many shopping malls around, cafe, bookstore, plus nice weather, clean trotoar, it made me think about Jakarta that is very dirty with all those kaki lima and messy parking cars. Wish someday Jakarta will be a friendly to pedestrian, local people or tourists.
Second day we went to Putrajaya, new city for governmental office centre, about 40 km from KL. We were in Putrajaya Marriot Hotel almost a whole day to cover the OIC emergency summit. There was Ahmadinejad. That most wanted guy, and my journalist friends said that he’s so humble and down to earth. Too bad for the second time I missed the opportunity to make pic with him. First time I met him in Westin Bali on D-8 Summit last may.
In Putrajaya, once again I found nice city, clean, green, fresh air, and well planned landscape. My Indonesian journalist said that in Indonesia, Putrajaya is Jonggol that never happen to be a new city.. Ironic but it’s true.
Next day just stay in Marriot Hotel for Business Forum with KLBC. Enjoying free hotspot in bizz centre, with comfy sofa and free coffee. Ah lovely..Then on sunset we went to Twin Tower Petronas, visited Bloomberg Office at 61 floor on tower 2 invited by Wahyudi. As Eiffel Tower in Paris, we can’t leave KL without having picture in Twin Tower as background
Then shopping time to KLCC, and having dinner at Lotus. And we served by all those Cianjur people who lived in KL for years. That night end up in Petaling Street to shop cheap souvenirs like Malioboro in Jogja.
Fourth day we went to Carey Island to see palm plantation. Again it’s nice district and well planned. Which part is for the plantation, that part for housing, school, public service, ..Not like in Indonesia..berantakan dan again kotoooooorrr….Yacky..
The last day I visited Sungai Wang, alone..But it was fun to walking down the street alone. KL is safer compare to Jakarta. With a direction from Arum, it easy to find another Vincci store
and having my foot being massage. Cant stand it longer..puegel buangeeet. Back to hotel with hands full of belanjaan…ah tetep aja perempuan dimana -mana sama aja
Shopping is in our gen hahaha… I prepared to go to KLIA and fly home to Jakarta.
Back to Jakarta is back to reality, since the first step I arrive in CGK. No luggage checked. ! Even they didnt check our luggage number..they just set us free like that, can you imagine if somebody took your bags and no officer check the number in the passangers ticket ??? And in the taxi park, some stranger guys came to me and try to “help” me brought my bags to the taxi even I didnt ask, coz I can do it by myself, no need any help. I’m strong enough guys.. And at the end they pushed me to give them money.. Thank God at that time Pak Dar, my colleague who travelled with me from KL helped me. He just push me to the taxi and said he will take care of them. Ah thanks Pak Dar.. I cant imagine if I travel alone.
That happened just minutes I arrived in Jakarta. Jakarta oh Jakarta.. Then suddenly I already miss KL.
